Pre-Cueing

Previewing the next song through headphones:

  1. Connect split output adapter.
  2. Open djay settings by tapping the cogwheel icon.
  3. Enable Split Output.

Note: Requires a 3.5mm stereo to mono split adapter (master output on left, preview on right stereo channel). Please see our support page support page for details.

Sharing via AirPlay

Wirelessly transmit your mix to Apple TV or AirPort Express station:

  1. Make sure your Apple TV or AirPort Express station is in the same Wi-Fi network as your device.
  2. Open djay settings by tapping the cogwheel icon.
  3. The AirPlay icon will show up next to the master volume slider.
  4. Tap the AirPlay icon to select the station to transmit to.

Exporting your recordings to your computer

  1. Connect device to your Mac or PC.
  2. Select your device from the Devices section on the left side of iTunes.
  3. Click the Apps tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  4. Under the File Sharing section select djay to retrieve your recordings.
  5. Drag and drop recordings from the Documents list to a folder on your computer.

Full screen iPod library access

  1. Open djay settings by tapping the cogwheel icon.
  2. Enable in Settings > Library.

Automatic transitions

Auto-Sync BPM in Automix mode

Automatically matches tempo and beats of two songs:

  1. Tap the Automix button to open the Automix pane.
  2. Navigate to Transition settings.
  3. Enable Auto-Sync BPM option.

Note: BPMs are matched if the applied tempo factor does not exceed the speed slider range. The latter can be adjusted in Settings > Speed Slider.

Sync / beat skip

If songs are shifted by one or half of a beat, pressing Sync multiple times shifts the song by ½ beat each time, which allows you to re-align the beat grids.

Auto-Cut Scratching

Rhythmically cuts your scratch to tempo of other turntable:

Manual fader cut

Tap on crossfader or line fader slider (outside of knob).

Wave juggling

Tap on overview waveform display for beat-synchronized scrubbing.

Toggle time display

Tap time display to toggle between elapsed and remaining time.

Reset cue points

Hold Set (Cue Point) button.

Hold SHIFT + cue point button.

Reset sliders

Double tap slider (tempo, EQ).

Customize speed slider

  1. Open djay settings by tapping the cogwheel icon.
  2. Navigate to Settings > General.
  3. Customize speed slider behavior to your preferred style (inverted, fine adjust, and range).

Turntable power-off FX

Tap on red light next to turntable.

Loop-Cue shifting

When looping is activated, jump to cue point to shift current loop region.

Bounce Loop swipe

Swipe finger across bounce loop matrix to change loop interval on the fly.

Advanced BPM editing

Tap on the BPM display. This will bring up a menu that allows you to half, double, manually tap, or restore the analyzed BPM value.

Audio Copy & Paste

djay allows you to paste audio from other music apps onto the turntables. Simply hold the load button until the menu appears and choose "Paste".

Loading recordings on the turntables

To load a recording you made in djay onto one of the turntables, open the recordings panel and hold the recording you wish to load until the menu pops up, and tap "Copy". Next hold the load button of the turntable until the menu pops up, and tap "Paste".
